Shanghai Mingdong Container Terminal (Waigaoqiao Phase V), a core hub within the Pudong Waigaoqiao Port Area, is equipped with a full range of key container handling machinery including quay cranes and rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs), serving as a vital node for regional logistics circulation. Aligning with national environmental policies to accelerate the green and intelligent upgrading of ageing equipment, Delichang and Lei Shing Hong Machinery formed a powerful partnership to complete the National Stage IV emission retrofitting of multiple CAT? C4.4 and CAT? C18 engines installed on RTGs at Mingdong Terminal. Cutting-edge power technology enables low-carbon and high-efficiency port operations.

Stable & Reliable CAT? Power for All Scenarios
CAT? engines integrate world-leading electronic fuel injection and emission control technologies, with aftertreatment systems supporting both active and passive regeneration modes. Boasting core strengths such as high power density, exceptional dependability and extended service life, they are widely deployed across diverse power application scenarios including ports, marine vessels, railways, mines and data centers. Backed by Caterpillar’s global warranty service network, stable equipment operation is guaranteed throughout the full equipment lifecycle.

Continuous Technical Empowerment & Specialized Training to Consolidate Maintenance Foundations
Following the completion of the equipment upgrading project, the technical service teams of both parties maintained close collaboration and continuous follow-up, delivering customized technical support and maintenance training. Senior professional Caterpillar instructors were invited to Mingdong Terminal to host specialized technical training sessions focused on National Stage IV engines. Equipment management engineers from the terminal participated fully, conducting in-depth studies and engaging in active exchanges. To address pain points and challenges encountered in on-site operations, technicians climbed aboard machinery for on-site inspections and discussions, resolving technical issues one by one. A regular technical communication mechanism was also established to steadily boost equipment maintenance and support capabilities.

Service Excellence Has No Boundaries
The successful delivery of Mingdong Terminal’s equipment retrofitting project fully embodies the relentless pursuit of perfection demonstrated by Mingdong’s engineering team, as well as the remarkable outcomes generated through integrated, complementary strengths with professional technical support from CAT? power systems. Taking this project as a new starting point, Lei Shing Hong Machinery and Delichang will further deepen their partnership. We will consistently deliver efficient, premium service support to the container logistics industry, and firmly fulfill our social responsibility for environmental protection with sincere commitment and practical actions.
