Brief Introduction to Gonghe Qinghai Lake Airport

Gonghe Qinghai Lake Airport is located in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and is a key construction project of both the nation and the province. The project was successfully approved in 2019, passed the feasibility study approval in 2021, and commenced construction officially in 2023. It is expected to complete flight calibration in December 2025 and be officially put into operation in 2026, when it will become the eighth civil aviation airport in Qinghai Province.

Constructed in accordance with the standards of a Class 4C feeder airport, the airport features a 6,000-square-meter terminal building, 5 Class C aircraft stands, and is designed to handle 450,000 passengers and 650 tons of cargo and mail annually. Its runway stretches 5,200 meters in length, making it the longest civil aviation runway in China at present.
