The Phase I distributed photovoltaic (PV) project for the "Carbon 12 Workshop," a pilot zone of the Yangtze River Delta (Kunshan) International Low-Carbon Industry
Innovation Park, has recently achieved successful grid connection. This project was invested in and constructed by Lei Shing Hong Energy.
As one of the first 16 certified zero-carbon building projects in China and the only project in the Yangtze River Delta region to receive a (renovation category) zero-carbon building design pre-assessment certification, the "Carbon 12 Workshop" has garnered significant attention since its inception. The project has earned multiple authoritative domestic and international green building and sustainability certifications, including "Three-Star Green Building," "LEED Platinum," and "BREEAM Excellent," fully demonstrating its high-standard positioning in both construction and operation.
To reduce overall energy consumption and achieve low-carbon operations across multiple dimensions, the "Carbon 12 Workshop" employs 12 energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies, including building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), comprehensive energy storage and accumulation systems, and energy-efficient smart lighting. Upon completion of Phase I, the project is expected to generate approximately 2.1 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1,050 tons per year. To precisely align with the unique architectural aesthetic requirements of the "Carbon 12 Workshop," Lei Shing Hong Energy custom-developed deep black-toned PV modules. During project implementation, the team overcame multiple technical challenges, including an irregular PV array layout, concurrent work involving multi-trade, and high-altitude installation. Through determined effort and efficient collaboration, they completed all construction tasks with high quality and on schedule, successfully achieving grid connection.
The smooth grid connection and operation of this project mark a significant milestone for Lei Shing Hong Energy in the practice of developing low-carbon parks. The "Carbon 12 Workshop" not only strongly promotes the construction of a low-carbon industry innovation platform integrating technology R&D, industrial incubation, and achievement demonstration but also provides valuable pioneering experience for state-owned assets systems to explore and implement the "PV + Park" development model. Looking ahead, we anticipate deepening cooperation with various partners in areas such as low-carbon park construction/operation and comprehensive energy services to jointly promote high-quality economic development.
