On November 28, the 2024 Caterpillar China Innovation Day concluded successfully in Wuxi. More than 200 representatives from 17 Caterpillar factories and various functional teams gathered at the Caterpillar Wuxi R&D Center to participate in and witness this annual grand event. Lei Shing Hang Energy (LSHE) was invited to attend the innovation activities, and its "LSH Kunshan Smart Park Project" delivered an outstanding performance, earning the "Sustainability Innovation Award."

During the conference, Wang Zeyang, Senior Manager of Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Sales at Lei Shing Hang Energy, served as the representative and provided a detailed introduction to LSHE's sustainability innovation solutions.

Located within the Kunshan Lei Shing Hang Machinery Group, the project implemented a clean and smart energy transformation for the park in 2017. This transformation was achieved through photovoltaic power generation, energy storage for peak shaving and valley filling, and a smart energy management platform to reduce carbon emissions. The smart park features a total installed capacity of 948 kWp in photovoltaic panels, successfully achieving a 40% grid power replacement rate and an approximately 85% green electricity utilization rate, significantly reducing electricity costs. The project reduces carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1,000 tons annually, equivalent to planting 55,543 trees. The overall environmental load of the park has also been notably reduced, aligning closely with Caterpillar’s long-term strategies for sustainable development and carbon neutrality.

Caterpillar has long been committed to sustainable development, with sustainability being one of its five core "Values in Action" and a strategic priority. The Lei Shing Hang Kunshan Smart Low-Carbon Park project aims to achieve low-carbon transformation and optimized energy management for the park by integrating photovoltaic power generation, energy storage systems, and a smart energy management platform. This project supports Caterpillar’s core strategic goals in energy management and sustainable development, providing robust solutions for its green transition in both the Chinese and global markets. Additionally, the smart energy management platform significantly enhances the park’s energy efficiency and operational management, offering a valuable reference for Caterpillar in building more intelligent and efficient production facilities.
