Advantage
High Comprehensive Utilization Efficiency
Delivers outstanding uptime and maintenance convenience; offers diverse thermal energy outputs; features high fuel flexibility and environmental adaptability.
Balance and Adaptability (G-B)
The G3500B Series incorporates multiple advanced technologies in Caterpillar gas generator sets. It demonstrates strong adaptability, capable of handling gases with Cat Methane Numbers as low as 60 MN, and has recently achieved efficient operation on low?methane?number fuels such as propane. In terms of mobility, the G3516B gas generator set is the world's first to implement lean?burn technology for gaseous fuels, making it widely adopted in fully mobile and containerized power stations.
Responsiveness and Durability (G?C)
Specially treated aftercooler cores, cylinder heads, and rear gear train bearings effectively resist corrosion from biogas. Thanks to a dedicated control architecture, the island?mode version of the C?Series generator sets offers an industry?leading solution for efficient operation independent of the public grid. For special fuel applications, Caterpillar is continuously investing in R&D to expand the C?Series platform’s compatibility with fuels such as syngas, blast furnace gas, coke oven gas, and ultra?low?concentration coal mine methane.
High Electrical Efficiency (G?E, G?H)
The E and H series units elevate electrical efficiency to a new level, achieving an enhanced efficiency of up to 44.7% (at 1.0 PF, ISO conditions). Both series offer tailored turbochargers, air systems, and controls. They can reduce engine oil consumption by approximately $14,000 annually and extend major overhaul intervals up to 80,000 hours, ensuring long?term operation with minimal lifecycle costs.
